Arsenal is currently enjoying a lot of heat in the football gist market. They played very well against Liverpool, with the game ending 5-5. The Carabao Cup game had to be settled via spot kicks.

It was nice to see Mesut Ozil returning to action after the protracted beef with the management –as the coach claimed it wasn’t solely his decision. He influenced the game until he was pulled out.

Another highlight was the performance of Brazilian Gabriel Martinelli. Martinelli, 18, joined this summer for six million pounds and has had a bright start at the Emirates, scoring seven goals in seven games already. His seven goals in just over 400 minutes is a record for a Brazilian in the Top Five European leagues. Hopefully he gets more opportunities in the senior team and puts them to good use.

Despite the loss to Liverpool, the fans have commended the effort of the youngsters. Goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez said they really wanted to win the game especially for their skipper Granit Xhaka whom they are rallying around.

After Unai Emery –whose job security is threatened by Jose Mourinho– asked Xhaka to apologize and he allegedly refused there was a lot of uproar, especially with the change in his display picture (DP) on his official social media. However, the Swiss star released a statement seeking to clarify what happened.

Xhaka said he had been abused for far too long that he reached a boiling point hence the happenings in the game against Crystal Palace. Fans and popular figures have called for the fans to forgive him, criticize him in a more positive way and move on from the matter.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is set to return as Arsenal play Wolves on Saturday. A win would be a positive with all the drama, aside keeping their hopes for a Top Four finish.
